Programming for kids 12 and up!

When I pulled my kids & I looked around at what was available for kids over the age of 12 I was astounded! Nothing sounded cool, informative or fit the skills I wanted my kids to learn. Last summer we kicked off Paladin with a hope, a dream and 11 kids! We had some ebb and flow over the year but we ended the year with 28 kids and all 28 have signed up! 

These are 32 week classes. 

Monday:
This year we launched a co-working day for the teens! This is an opportunity for them to work on Take Over Projects (ideas I have but can't get to without a little help and they will earn profit share) Example: We really want the kids to host Kids Night Outs but we will need help planning, securing help, booking the gym, activities planned etc and if we charge $10 per child for 2 hours we will give our Take Over Helpers $2 per child that attends for their help planning the event! Monday's could be used to take a class together, work on their product/service based businesses, earn service hours, the list goes on and on! This day is $36 per child with drop off anytime after 8am and pick up before 3:30pm. 

Wednesday: $50 per child. Drop off after 8am. Pick up before 3:30. 

Our year one entrepreneurship kids (meaning they did not come last year) will earn 3 high school credits. The kids will take
Entrepreneurship 1 - where they will learn all the in's and outs of starting a product based business and end with a market where they will sell their products!

Digital Storytelling - This class they will learn how to voice their opinions and research tools. The kids will work in groups to create a podcast, a vlog, and a blog!

Media Literacy - This class is taught in a way that shows all the different ways media is manipulated. We will start with historical instances, the kids will have projects, conversations and we will use icivics.org to work through the 12 different types of propaganda. 

Year 2 Entrepreneurship:

Our Year 2 kids are moving into Entrepreneurship 2 - They will start service based businesses and are being challenged to book 5 jobs over the course of the year. We will do a graphic design and website building curriculum and teach personal finance! These kids will also earn 3 credit hours during the year! 

Thursday: $50 per day per child. Drop off after 8am pick up before 3:30. 

This is our first year of a hosting an academic day for our 12 and up kids! The kids will be learning about US Government.

Creative Writing and Journalism and the kids will create a magazine on a subject of their choice as well as learn all the different writing styles! They will do every element of their magazine while working with a local publisher and editor! They will also learn Canva design and layouts. 

We will be doing American Sign Language as our foreign language!
